SEN- lotus…

Lotus season spotted in Hanoi with baskets of flowers transferred in town by street vendors on their bicycles. That is when I look forward to freshly infused lotus tea. They normally pour a little tea in a dried fresh lotus flower, cover it with a big lotus leave, wrap it and soak the spring in water for a day so the cover leaves still get access to water and stay fresh, thus maintain their mild aroma for the tea to absorb. After that you have tea infused with lotus sense, so very delicate and fragrant.

Lotus is in bloom after lunar April- mostly around May and June in solar calendar and about to end pretty soon as June is almost over. I’m glad this year I don’t miss the short season and have a chance to share it with you on the blog.

Spent this morning sitting by the lotus pond in the West lake, enjoying tea, contemplating white clouds rushing in the sunny blue sky, and giving my mind some time for wandering thoughts…

My wanderers had fun chasing those white clouds! Was thinking maybe you could come sit down for a cup of tea!

Enjoy my lotus color of Hanoi!
